RYA Safety Boat Course

Description

The RYA Safety Boat course is designed specifically for the small boat user. The Safety Boat course provides the knowledge required to operate a variety of boats, from a dory, (a yacht tender with a small outboard), to very high performance speedboats or RIBs powered by inboard or outboard engines.

Previous Experience ?

RYA Power Boat Level 2, recommended First Aid & VHF Certificate.

Content

The RYA Safety Boat Course introduces the techniques used in powerboats escorting racing fleets of dinghies and windsurfers, providing , safety and rescue cover for training fleets, and assisting in race management. Techniques for canoes / kayaks and kite surfers are also discussed. It is also strongly recommended that a VHF radio operators licence and current First Aid Certificate are held.
